Mclaren F1 custom audio installation

The customer requested a CD player and TFT touch screen audio system installed discretely into the car so the interior remained as unmolested as possible.
This required purchasing a full aftermarket hi end system and hiding it within the car. Picture below shows the main control panel that is mounted to the left of the drivers seat in the F1. If you look closely you may notice that the functions engraved on the face plate are not as they were when the car left the factory in Woking back in 90's. A new face plate was designed and manufactured while retaining the original controls from the TAG / Kenwood audio system. This control panel was rewired to connect with the existing vehicle harness to the new audio control hub which was located in the front compartment. The original TAG amplifier was retained as were the Kenwood speakers.

Under the LHS passenger seat a CD player was located. The front panel was removed and the Eject button wired to the unit as shown.

The TFT touch screen was mounted ahead of the gear lever and housed in a custom trimmed bezel. The screen was finished off with a custom made manufactures badge.
